Privacy Policy for Call Logs Backup & Restore

Effective date: 2026-10-25

This Privacy Policy applies to the Android application Call Logs Backup & Restore (package name com.hamatim.callhistoryeditor), published on Google Play by HMT Developer (hamatim.com). It explains what data the app accesses, how that data is used, where it is stored, who it may be shared with, and how you can delete it.

By installing and using the app you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

The app is developed and published by HMT Developer, an independent developer whose apps and pages are hosted on https://www.hamatim.com.

Privacy point of contact: admin@hamatim.com

You can use this address at any time to ask a privacy question, request information about the data described below, or request deletion of data that could be associated with you.

2. Summary

  • Call logs, contacts, backup files and CSV files are processed on your device only.
  • We do not operate a server. We do not create user accounts. We do not upload your call log to any server controlled by us, and we never sell or rent your data.
  • A cloud backup is created only when you explicitly ask for it, and it goes to your own Google Drive, in a private folder that belongs to the app.
  • The app includes third-party SDKs (Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Play Billing) that collect limited technical and diagnostic data, as described in section 6.

3. Data the app accesses on your device

The app requests the following Android permissions and uses them strictly for the features listed:

  • Call log (read and write) - READ_CALL_LOG, WRITE_CALL_LOG: reading your call history to display it (date, time, duration, call type, phone number, SIM slot), type your edits into the system call log, and write restored entries back into the system call log. Editing the call log is the core function of the app and always requires your explicit action inside the app.
  • Contacts (read) - READ_CONTACTS: looking up the contact name and photo that belong to a phone number so the call list is readable. Contact data is read on the fly and is not copied out of the contacts database, and the app never modifies, uploads or shares your contacts.
  • Files and storage (read and write) - READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: creating and reading local backup files and exporting or importing CSV files at the location you choose.
  • Network and internet - INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: only needed for the optional Google Drive backup, for in-app purchases, and for the advertising and diagnostics SDKs. The app works offline for all local features.
  • WAKE_LOCK: keeping the device awake while a backup or restore operation is running so it can finish without being interrupted.

All of this data stays inside the app's sandbox or in the file location you selected. None of it is transmitted to us.

4. Data the app stores

  • Local app database: the app keeps a local database of your call log entries (including the "deleted"/"edited" history it needs to let you review or undo changes) so it can restore entries for you. This database exists only on your device.
  • Local backup files: JSON/CSV backups created by the app in your device storage. You control these files; deleting them or clearing app data removes them permanently.
  • Preferences: small settings such as your last backup time, your theme choice and the result of your in-app purchase.

We have no access to any of the above and we keep no copy of it.

5. Cloud backup to your own Google Drive (optional)

If you tap the Google Drive backup option, the app asks you to sign in with your Google account and requests the drive.appdata permission (Google Drive "application data folder"). This permission lets the app create, read and delete files only inside its own hidden folder in your Google Drive. It cannot read any other file in your Drive, and it cannot see your files outside that folder.

  • The backup archive is uploaded directly from your device to Google's servers, over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection.
  • The archive contains your call log entries and app settings, so that you can restore them later or on another device.
  • The archive belongs to your Google account. We cannot read it, and we do not receive a copy of it.
  • Signing out of Google inside the app, deleting the backup from the app, or removing the app's access in your Google Account permissions settings ends this access. You can also delete the app data folder through your Google Account settings.

6. Third-party services

The app uses the following third-party services, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy. Links to their policies are listed below.

  • Google Play Services / Google Play Billing - used for in-app purchases (removing ads) and Google sign-in. Payment details are handled entirely by Google; we never see your card number or billing address. We only receive the confirmation that a purchase belongs to a valid Google account, and we store that confirmation locally on the device. Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google AdMob - displays advertising. AdMob may access your device's advertising identifier, IP address, and general device and app information in order to serve and measure ads, and may serve personalised ads where you have consented to personalised advertising at the operating-system level. You can reset or delete the advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device's Google settings. AdMob privacy information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
  • Google Analytics for Firebase - collects aggregated, app-level usage events such as screens opened, features used (for example "backup started") and app version, together with a randomly generated app instance identifier and device model/OS version. It does not receive your call log content, phone numbers or contact names. Firebase privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
  • Firebase Crashlytics - receives crash reports and technical diagnostics (stack trace, device model, operating system version, app version, app state at the time of the crash) so that defects can be fixed. Crash reports are not designed to contain your call log or contacts, and we do not attach user content to them. Firebase privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Apart from the cases above, we do not share personal or sensitive user data with any other party. We do not sell, rent or trade your data. We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or to protect the rights and safety of users and of the developer.

7. Data we do not collect

  • We do not require or offer user accounts, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or address.
  • We do not upload your call log, contacts or backup files to any server operated by us.
  • We do not record, intercept, transcribe or listen to calls: the app does not request microphone, phone-state or call-recording permissions and it does not place calls.
  • We do not read SMS messages, photos, calendars or precise location.
  • We do not use your call log data for advertising, profiling or any automated decision-making.

8. Secure data handling

  • All app data lives in the private, sandboxed storage area of the app. On Android, other apps cannot read it.
  • All network transfers (Google Drive backup, ads, analytics, crash reports, purchases) use encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
  • No hard-coded credentials, and no developer-owned storage bucket or database, are used anywhere in the app.
  • Access to your Google Drive is limited to the app's own data folder, as described in section 5, and can be revoked by you at any time.

9. Data retention and deletion

  • On your device: data is kept for as long as the app is installed and you keep it. You can delete it at any time:
  • delete individual entries or use the app's clear/delete options for its history;
  • delete the backup and CSV files you exported, using any file manager;
  • clear all app data in Android Settings > Apps > Call Logs Backup & Restore > Storage > Clear data;
  • uninstall the app, which removes its database, preferences and internal files.
  • In your Google Drive: your backup archive stays in your own Drive until you delete it - from inside the app, or from your Google Account permissions page, or from Google Drive. We cannot delete it for you because we have no access to it.
  • Third-party data: analytics, crash reports, advertising and purchase records held by Google are retained according to Google's own retention policies.
  • Deletion requests: if you believe some data related to you is held by a third-party service and you want help identifying it, contact admin@hamatim.com. Because the app stores your content on your device and in your own Google Drive, uninstalling the app is normally the complete and immediate deletion.

10. Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app's core function is editing and backing up the call history of the device owner, and it is intended for adult users. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact admin@hamatim.com.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Since we do not hold your call log, contacts or backups, most requests are satisfied directly on your device as described in section 9. For anything else, write to admin@hamatim.com and we will respond within a reasonable period, and no later than 30 days.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app's features or the applicable rules change. The updated version is published at this same URL with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
